Sweet Jesus this movie looks awesome.

Relaxing Sunday

I actually don’t find this image to be very relaxing at all. In fact there is something I find quite troublesome about it. Quite troublesome indeed. Though this is the great power of the internet. You type ‘Sunday’ into Google image search because you realize there is little of topical relevance in that which you are about to write but you still want a picture to go with it because people like pictures and you are so uncreative you just enter the day that it happens to be. Then THIS happens and you can not unsee it.

You’re welcome.

So anyways… Hello internet!  How are you?  I’m good thanks.  Just finished my first week at a ‘real job’ in two and half years and it didn’t kill me. In fact I’m happy to have my brain engaged again.  For those of you who followed Clickwheel and Graphic Smash you know there was not a whole hell of a lot going on at either site and to say my mind was not being taxed with a healthy level of activity would be understatement. With my first week of participation in society behind us though I will be looking to post with increasingly regularity starting now.

So there’s that.

I didn’t want to throw up a complete nothing post though so I thought I’d toss out a tease for you.  As I’ve implied I am working on a new comic and I do have a title for it along with a working logo:

I’ll talk about this more soon in terms of why I choose this name what you can expect from the series and all that kinda stuff but for now I’ll leave it to a simple: “what’a ya think?”

What a great night we had last night at The Milwaukee Chapter of the Drink and Draw Social Club. The event was hosted by our friends at BYO Studio and it just blew away our expectations. Prior we’d always been a small group huddled around a few tables at a bar but to take over a whole space… it was just awesome to see that much drinking and drawing happening. Some awesome artwork happening to boot.

I can’t wait for the next one! I’ll be sure to let you know.

In the meantime you can join us here.

Ka turns, and the world moves on. If we’re lucky, we move on with it.

As of the end of today I am resigning as editor of Clickwheel.net and GraphicSmash.com and removing my comic, Reckless Life from both sites.

For those of you who know me personally or have even just followed my work you know this is a big deal.  I fought long and hard to get to a point where I could sustain myself off of comics and now I am giving that up.  It wasn’t a decision made lightly but it was time.

I’m not done with crazy internet stuff though and you can see that evolve here.  What that stuff may be we’ll get to in the coming days.

So that’s the big news.  I’ll be getting much, much deeper into my reasoning within an ongoing series of posts on my experiences in the comic industry both pro and amateur, print and web that I will be starting here soon.  If anyone can profit from my triumphs and tragedies in the business of the business I will be offering my experiences for anyone who wishes to hear them right here on this very site.

What about my comics you ask?  Reckless Life is gone from this here internet and BustoutOdds.com is forwarding here.  What gives?  We’ll talk about the fate of Bustout Odds soon but as for Reckless Life you’ll be able to find out how to get access to the archives right here.  Check the Reckless Life link above for a little more.  (And much more soon.)

As we launch into something new here I’d like to take this opportunity to thank some of my most ardent supporters.  None of the last two and half years would have been possible without the support and encouragement of Terry and Kim Haller, Dan Weltin, Bill Inzeo, Dan McGuinness and Justin Pierce.

I’d also like to thank the folks behind the sites I worked for, Rebellion LTD, Will Simons and Joey Manley, for the opportunities they provided me and T Campbell for making those opportunities possible.  Extra special thanks to all of you who kept up on my various webcomic projects over the years.

Next week is my first week at my new job and I will be traveling for training on top of it so posts may be a bit sparse in the early going here but once I settle in look for lots of digital shenanigans and what I hope is some useful information happening here.

Until then…

I’m Tim Demeter.  You stay classy internet.
P.S. (yes that is my Duffman costume.  I took that picture when I was throwing out old Halloween gear a little while back.)
